Join Pack 11

We are excited to have you join our pack!

Thank you for expressing interest in joining Cub Scout Pack 11 Coventry.  Below you will find some helpful information about the pack and how to join.

For those unfamiliar with Cub Scouts, typically your child must be in the 1st grade to join.  This year is unique, however, in that we are adding a Kindergarten Den!  Cub Scouting runs up through the 5th grade, at which point your sons would transition to Boy Scouts.

Some of the terms can get confusing if you are new to scouting.  For your information, the “Pack” includes everyone enrolled in Pack 11, grades K through 5.  A “Den” consists only of children in their age group.  For instance, the Kindergarten Den will be called the Lions, 1st grade the Tigers, 2nd grade the Wolves, 3rd grade the Bears, 4th and 5th grade the Webelos.

The official Scouting “season” runs throughout the school year (Fall to Spring), however in our pack, we continue fun outings (optional) all summer long.  Please check us out on Facebook at or on our website

I think you will find that we are a very active and successful Pack.  Your child would attend both Den and Pack meetings where they will learn a series of age appropriate principles; Character Development, Respectful Relationships, Spiritual Growth, Personal Achievement, Good Citizenship, Friendly Service, Sportsmanship, Fitness Fun and Adventure, Family dynamics, Preparation for Boy Scouts.  Throughout the year, the kids will earn belt loops and badges by participating in lessons, activities and teamwork.

To join the pack you will need to fill out the attached documents and hand them in personally as they require signatures. The cost for the year is $80 which goes towards Council Registration, pack meeting activities, pack supplies, and our Spring/Fall Campouts.  An additional $10 fee goes toward your child’s own den meeting where we use supplies and provide snacks.

Finally, I welcome and encourage you to consider joining as an adult leader.  Volunteers are needed for a number of positions, some requiring more of an active role (Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader) and others where we are seeking people who excel in many areas of interest; hiking, cooking, wood working, fishing, etc.

If you would like to join us for one event prior to officially becoming a member, please feel free to come to one of the summer public events where we go fishing, hiking, kite flying and a bike ride.  The dates of these activities and are listed on the websites above.
